CHRISTMAS IS NIGH!!!!

It's almost CHRISTMAS! Can you believe it, I'm having real trouble getting into the swing of things. Have been shopping in the past week and almost finished the pressies but haven't thought about the food yet!!! It will happen whether I'm ready or not. LOL

Things have been busy as always...school things, work, family and work celebrations, and the usual family/house/life committments and so it goes on!

Merry Christmas to everyone, hope you all have a great time and that 2011 is a fantastic year for you.

It's been a while

Well hasn't it been a while since I blogged. Life just gets busy and there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day for me.

I've been able to have a little play with my new goodies but would've liked to play much more.....my turn will come I guess.
Have placed my first order but yet to get organised to start demos. It'll be just like an early Christmas when my goodies arrive! :) :)

Speaking of Christmas, I can't believe it is only 6 weeks away. Where has the year gone?? I'm usually so organised and have my shopping done by October at the latest but the older the kids get the harder I am finding it to buy for them.

This week I have managed to get about half my shopping done, haven't thought about the food side of things yet. Usually leave that until the last week.

We have a couple of birthdays to celebrate before then too. My brother's 60th and my son's 14th. Also have to have xrays, blood tests, drs and specialist appointment before Xmas too. Ho hum no wonder time is just flying.

Until next time stay safe and well

Tomorrow I am hoping to have a day home alone so hope to have another little play with my new toys.

I've got BIG news!

Earlier this week I signed up to become a KASZAZZ consultant. Kaszazz is an Australian company that sells scrapbooking and stamping products.
Woohoo! Can't wait to get my kit and start playing. My kit should be here in about 10 days.

Check out their online catalogue here.

I'm SO excited, the range of products is extensive and amazing. So looking forward to the Journey.
Bring it ON! :-)

SICK! :(

Oh Dear I thought we may have made it through the winter without catching the bug! BUT no, No 3. son had a cold for a couple of weeks and ended up with an ear infection and antibiotics, then down I came with the sort throat and the COUGH. It is so bad all my abdo muscles are aching. At least I feel a little better than I did a few days ago but how I wish this cough would go.

My daughter and grandson both have the cough and the cold....eyes and noses running like a tap.

Just hope the rest of the family don't get it as well.

Off to sit by the fire....even tho' its warm in the sun its still cold inside.

Cheers until next time.

Busy Busy Busy!

Life has been rather hectic lately.

Have been very busy making these cards

volunteering at the Victorian Teachers Games which are currently taking place here. Great fun but surprisingly tiring.
Went to a full day scrapping and card making workshop, which was just awesome.

School holidays are upon us as well.

Off to see Dorothy the Dinosaur on Sunday with my little grandson and daughter then onto a lunch for my brother and sister-in-laws 40th. wedding anniversary.

Rather a busy week, not sure what the next week will bring maybe some R & R.

Cheers until next time

Rain, Rain and more Rain

Phew its been raining so much, we've had over 60mm of rain in 24 hours. For once the weather bureau got their predictions right. Surely this drought must be broken now.

It's been a good inside day although we went up to the Marketplace to do some last minute Father's Day shopping and there were so many people there. It rather resembled the pre Christmas rush.

Haven't been at all productive lately on the craft front, but have been trying to do some spring cleaning. Gee I wish I wasn't a hoarder.LOL but I have no hope at all, it's in the family.

Off to cook dinner, we're having Thai style pumpkin soup (Jacob is cooking the soup), silverside, boiled potatoes, carrots and peas and corn. YUM

Until next time stay safe and happy. :)

Best Night's Sleep

...Last night I went to a Perfume Party and really enjoyed it, which is surprising since I am not really a perfume person. I felt like I was actually doing something for me for a change.....I found a couple of perfumes I liked and even.....wait for it.....booked a party myself!!!
I haven't bought any perfume since we got married....24 years ago....cos hubby gets headaches from most perfumes. He will just have to get used to it when I finally get my new perfume! LOL

The surprising thing is that I had the best nights sleep I have had since my op???? I actually slept in and didn't wake until 7.30am which is unknown for me. I am nearly always an early riser....somewhere between 4am and 6.30am depending on what's going on in my life. Is there a connection, I wonder???

A Good Inside by the Fire Day!

Morning All, well today is cold and wet again.........a great day to be by the fire. We have had so much rain recently that surely the drought we have experienced for the past 10 years must be over. The storages are at last filling although nowhere near full it is promising to say the least.

Today I am home alone, it is so quiet and peaceful I just want to soak it up. I'm sitting here with a cuppa and surfing the net. What a life!
There are heaps of things I should be doing but what the heck.....they'll keep. Lol.

Will get the knitting needles out and do some knitting while I watch the midday movie.

Cheers, hope you have a great day too.

Time Flies!!

Well here it is almost a week since we went to Melbourne........and I feel that I have achieved so little......the week has been full of trying to get washing dry. The weather has been very wet and icy cold.....just LOVE it but it is so hard to get the washing dry LOL. Oh well can't have it both ways.
Spent yesterday at the footy and only 1 out of 4 teams won...Jamies team has made it to the finals...they have one more game to play but cannot go out of the top 4 teams. Yay!
Brenton's team not so lucky and haven't made it to the finals this year.
It was freezing and blowing a gale at the footy yesterday but i did manage a few rows of the knee rug that I am knitting. Almost halfway now.

Haven't done any scrapping at all this week either.....everyday I've thought today is the day but then life has got in the way. Grrr. Maybe this week????

It is so hard to believe that we are halfway through August already, it'll be Christmas again before we know it.
Only 132 days to go.......yikes!
Best get off this computer and do some work,

cheers

A Big Day Out

Sunday saw us off to Melbourne for the day, weather was good although it was very windy in some of the alley ways in Melbourne. First stop was William Angliss TAFE where we enjoyed looking around and finding out more about the school and what it offers for our 17ish year old son. Then we walked down to Spencer St. DFO and had a poke around all the shops followed by a wander around the Victoria Market. It's years since I have done so much walking and certainly the most walking I have done since I had my knee replacement 3 months ago. I was rapt in how well it stood up to the task.
All in all a fantastic day.

Just Wanted to Share.......

I received this email this morning and thought it was hilarious so decided to share it with you. Hope you like it as much as I did!

A mother passing by her son's bedroom was astonished to see the bed was nicely made, and everything was picked up. Then, she saw an envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow.

It was addressed, 'Mum'. With the worst premonition, she opened the envelope and read the letter, with trembling hands.

'Dear, Mum.

It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope
with my new girlfriend, because I wanted to avoid a scene with Dad and you.

I've been finding real passion with Stacy, and she is so nice, but I knew
you would not approve of her, because of all her piercings, tattoos, her tight Motorcycle clothes, and because she is so much older than I am.

But it's not only the passion, Mum. She's pregnant.

Stacy said that we will be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods, and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children.

Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone. We'll be growing it for ourselves, and trading it with the other people in the commune, for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want.

In the meantime, we'll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS, so Stacy can get better. She sure deserves it!!

Don't worry Mum, I'm 15, and I know how to take care of myself.

Someday,I'm sure we'll be back to visit, so you can get to know your many grandchildren.

Love, your son, Nicholas.

PS: Mum, none of the above is true. I'm over at Jason's house.

I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than

the school report that's on my desk..

I love you!

Call when it is safe for me to come home

I've been BUSY!

Woohoo, I managed to do another 3 pages in my 52 weeks of 2010 so am gradually catching up and just loved completing the challenges.

I had fallen way behind when I had my knee replacement but am trying desperately to catch up. Have only another 9 challenges to go and I will be up to date.

I also managed to complete Courtenay's bean bag so that's one job I can wipe off my To Do list. Yay!!

Will put up photos just as soon as I find the USB cord for my camera cos the pics are on the camera's internal memory and not the memory card. :(
I went to the place where I always put the cord and sure enough found all the cords for the other cameras but not for mine. Don't you just hate that when it happens? It seems to happen quite often here......

Craft day today

Good Morning all, looks like another rainy day so....Today I have set aside to be a crafty day......hopefully I will get the chance to sit down and get stuck into some serious scrapping.

There are no fixed plans to do anything else today so fingers crossed! This means I should KEEP OFF the "puter"!

Wish me luck!

Cheers

A Night Out!

Rarely do my husband and I go out, but last night we did. Our son is doing Yr 12 hospitality and they cooked up a storm last night! They held a carvery buffet at the local TAFE college restaurant and boy did they do a great job.

Menu - Potato and Leek Soup with freshly baked bread roll
Roast lamb, lyonnaise potato, sauteed green beans, cauliflower in mornay sauce
Strawberry and white chocolate bread and butter pudding with ice cream or
Apple filo and ice cream.

It was absolutely delicious and was definitely restaurant quality, fantastic effort everyone!

On the crafty front I got busy yesterday and finally did some more of my 52 weeks of 2010 and I was quite happy with the results. Also managed a few more rows of the knee rug. I'm feeling so much better now that I am making time to finish off these UFO's, just hope I can keep the momentum going. :)

Without the Internet!

Oh Dear, our internet wasn't working yesterday for some reason and my oh my how frustrating was that!!!! (A big thanks to Jacob who must've managed to get the net up and running after I went to bed last night. Woohoo!)

I really wanted to get on the net yesterday and couldn't, how much have we come to rely on the internet for everything these days.
I guess on the plus side it freed me up to do other things such as going for a lovely walk around the lake with my daughter and grandson which was so enjoyable, cleaning up the kitchen which was not!, knitting and some cooking.
Also managaed a Nanna nap after lunch....hehehe. I have an excuse tho' - getting the 'flu - all my muscles and head was and still is aching, sneezing all the time, blocked nose etc etc etc.

Well it's time to get off the 'puter and get stuck into some housework before I go off to volunteer at the Museum.

Until next time, take care!

Road Trip!

Well I have just arrived home after travelling 2 hours each way for my 13yr old to play a game of football. They lost the game but never mind they still have a good chance of making the finals.
Anyway the good thing was I pulled out the rug I am knitting and did quite a few rows while watching the game. Yay! I am attempting to complete these UFO's that have been hanging around for years. I started this rug about 3 years ago and it is only half done.....so had best get off this blog and get those needles clicking again.
Until next time

Hope you have a good weekend.

A New Slant

I found this quote on my facebook page and thought it was an interesting slant on the general view we have on cancer.......

"What Cancer Cannot Do.... Cancer is so limited...

It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot eat away peace
It cannot destroy confidence
It cannot kill friendships
It cannot shut out memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot reduce eternal life
It cannot quench the Spirit. " - Unknown

We usually focus on what it does do and not what is doesn't do.... Will be very happy when science is able to wipe out this hideous disease!

Now completely away from this topic, just found this great idea on Everyday Mom Ideas, think I will have to put this on my TO DO list! How cool is this checkerboard/tic tac toe board and how easy to make. Thanks Julia for sharing this!

WOW! Can you believe I have a Blog????

For a while now I have been thinking about starting up a blog so here it is.

Thought I would share some of my random thoughts and activities.

Have just spent 3 days staying with my Dad while Mum had a few days away. It was very relaxing.....hahaha....just had trouble spelling "relaxing" right, kept pressing the marked "x" key but it kept coming up with a "z". Me thinks my little grandson must have pulled the keys off and whoever replaced it has put the keys in the wrong place! Thought I was going crazy there for a while or should I say crazier!

Anyway back to my few days away.....I caught up on lots of reading, just papers and magazines but oh so relaxing. I also managed to do some handsewing......have been making a handsewn hexagon quilt for the past 10? years and haven't touched it for quite a few years so got a few stitches in.

I have so many UFOs I should extract the digit and try and get some finished.
I have a knitted knee rug underway that is half finished......a jumper I started for Ian about 13 years ago and just needs sleeves to be complete.......a bean bag for Courtenay which is cut out just needs to be sewn up......a quilted Christmas wall hanging that would only take me a couple of hours to complete.....ho hum I'm inspired to get to and try and finish at least some of these.
Wish me luck!

As for scrapping, sadly I've lost my mojo and it has been AWOL for a looong time. I have managed quite a few cards lately but haven't attempted a layout for months.

So perhaps I should make it may aim to do at least ONE layout a week from now on and to continue on with a UFO in the hope of getting it completed before the end of the year, perhaps with the exception of the hexagon quilt which will take me longer than 6 months to complete.

Drop in sometime and say hello!
