Good Morning all, looks like another rainy day so....Today I have set aside to be a crafty day......hopefully I will get the chance to sit down and get stuck into some serious scrapping.
There are no fixed plans to do anything else today so fingers crossed! This means I should KEEP OFF the "puter"!
Wish me luck!
Cheers

A Night Out!
Rarely do my husband and I go out, but last night we did. Our son is doing Yr 12 hospitality and they cooked up a storm last night! They held a carvery buffet at the local TAFE college restaurant and boy did they do a great job.
Menu - Potato and Leek Soup with freshly baked bread roll
Roast lamb, lyonnaise potato, sauteed green beans, cauliflower in mornay sauce
Strawberry and white chocolate bread and butter pudding with ice cream or
Apple filo and ice cream.
It was absolutely delicious and was definitely restaurant quality, fantastic effort everyone!
On the crafty front I got busy yesterday and finally did some more of my 52 weeks of 2010 and I was quite happy with the results. Also managed a few more rows of the knee rug. I'm feeling so much better now that I am making time to finish off these UFO's, just hope I can keep the momentum going. :)

Without the Internet!
Oh Dear, our internet wasn't working yesterday for some reason and my oh my how frustrating was that!!!! (A big thanks to Jacob who must've managed to get the net up and running after I went to bed last night. Woohoo!)
I really wanted to get on the net yesterday and couldn't, how much have we come to rely on the internet for everything these days.
I guess on the plus side it freed me up to do other things such as going for a lovely walk around the lake with my daughter and grandson which was so enjoyable, cleaning up the kitchen which was not!, knitting and some cooking.
Also managaed a Nanna nap after lunch....hehehe. I have an excuse tho' - getting the 'flu - all my muscles and head was and still is aching, sneezing all the time, blocked nose etc etc etc.
Well it's time to get off the 'puter and get stuck into some housework before I go off to volunteer at the Museum.
Until next time, take care!

Road Trip!
Well I have just arrived home after travelling 2 hours each way for my 13yr old to play a game of football. They lost the game but never mind they still have a good chance of making the finals.
Anyway the good thing was I pulled out the rug I am knitting and did quite a few rows while watching the game. Yay! I am attempting to complete these UFO's that have been hanging around for years. I started this rug about 3 years ago and it is only half done.....so had best get off this blog and get those needles clicking again.
Until next time
Hope you have a good weekend.

A New Slant
I found this quote on my facebook page and thought it was an interesting slant on the general view we have on cancer.......
"What Cancer Cannot Do.... Cancer is so limited...
It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot eat away peace
It cannot destroy confidence
It cannot kill friendships
It cannot shut out memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot reduce eternal life
It cannot quench the Spirit. " - Unknown
We usually focus on what it does do and not what is doesn't do.... Will be very happy when science is able to wipe out this hideous disease!
Now completely away from this topic, just found this great idea on Everyday Mom Ideas, think I will have to put this on my TO DO list! How cool is this checkerboard/tic tac toe board and how easy to make. Thanks Julia for sharing this!

WOW! Can you believe I have a Blog????
For a while now I have been thinking about starting up a blog so here it is.
Thought I would share some of my random thoughts and activities.
Have just spent 3 days staying with my Dad while Mum had a few days away. It was very relaxing.....hahaha....just had trouble spelling "relaxing" right, kept pressing the marked "x" key but it kept coming up with a "z". Me thinks my little grandson must have pulled the keys off and whoever replaced it has put the keys in the wrong place! Thought I was going crazy there for a while or should I say crazier!
Anyway back to my few days away.....I caught up on lots of reading, just papers and magazines but oh so relaxing. I also managed to do some handsewing......have been making a handsewn hexagon quilt for the past 10? years and haven't touched it for quite a few years so got a few stitches in.
I have so many UFOs I should extract the digit and try and get some finished.
I have a knitted knee rug underway that is half finished......a jumper I started for Ian about 13 years ago and just needs sleeves to be complete.......a bean bag for Courtenay which is cut out just needs to be sewn up......a quilted Christmas wall hanging that would only take me a couple of hours to complete.....ho hum I'm inspired to get to and try and finish at least some of these.
Wish me luck!
As for scrapping, sadly I've lost my mojo and it has been AWOL for a looong time. I have managed quite a few cards lately but haven't attempted a layout for months.
So perhaps I should make it may aim to do at least ONE layout a week from now on and to continue on with a UFO in the hope of getting it completed before the end of the year, perhaps with the exception of the hexagon quilt which will take me longer than 6 months to complete.
Drop in sometime and say hello!
